Who said Sales is give and take? Meaning –
You give a product / service and they buy it. We do know, It’s more, really more. It’s a physical, intellectual and emotional fitness test.
- We have to step out for meetings irrespective of weather conditions
- We have to be presentable and articulate the benefits to customers
- we have to stay up breast with product and market info and handle objections
- We have to empathise with prospects and wait for their commitment.
When we took sales, we knew we had to take all these. We should be ready for rejections, continue to follow up with prospects even if it hurts our emotions and be professional irrespective of the status on the other side.We have to stay motivated all the time, carry unbeatable optimism combined with rationalism. Yes, we have to do all these.
Remember, when things are not going in our stride, we could dial our inner voice – the SalesGuy’s voice. It says tomorrow will be better. It motivates us to stay calm, composed while juggling between meetings and different buyer personas. It encourages us to continue following up with prospects until we achieve our targets.
So, let’s talk to our inner voice – the SalesGuys’ voice as much as needed and as often as possible and remind ourselves that Apna time Ayega!
